Privacy Policy

Last updated September 12, 2026. Hye Dad Sports has no required accounts, logins, or passwords, and an optional sign-in doesn't use a password either — here's what little data exists.

Hye Dad Sports is a free, independent network of sports trackers. There's no required sign-up, and no payment info is collected anywhere on the network. This page covers what data is collected across www.hyedad.com and every subdomain (nfl.hyedad.com, mlb.hyedad.com, uefa.hyedad.com, nascar.hyedad.com, every team Report, etc.), and where it goes.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand traffic at a high level — which trackers get used, roughly where visitors are located (city/region-level, from IP address), device type, and general navigation patterns. This is aggregate, not tied to a name or email. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data.

We also use Mixpanel for product analytics — which features get used and how, so we know what's worth building next. On the website this currently includes Mixpanel's autocapture (automatically-tracked clicks and page views) and session replay (a recording of on-page interactions, not audio or camera) for a sample of visits; on the Hye Dad Sports iOS app it's lighter-weight — just named events like opening the app, requesting a sign-in link, and saving confidence-pool picks, with no autocapture or session replay. See Mixpanel's Privacy Policy for how they handle this data.

Fan Predictions

The "Predict the Score" / fan poll features on every tracker and Team Report don't require an account. Your browser generates a random anonymous ID (stored in your browser's local storage) so you can change your pick later, and that's paired with your vote in our database. No name, email, or other identifying information is attached to a prediction.

Fandom Wall (comments)

Team Report "Fandom Wall" discussion threads are powered by Cusdis, a third-party comment service. If you choose to post a comment, whatever you enter (and technical details like IP address, standard for any commenting system) is handled by Cusdis. You don't need to comment to use any tracker.

Sign in (optional)

Every tracker works fully without signing in — your starred teams are already saved to your browser (see "Local storage" below) regardless. Signing in is an optional extra that makes those same stars follow you to a new browser or device, and unlocks the Confidence Pool. There's no password: entering your email sends you a one-time "magic link" instead, on the website and in the iOS app alike.

When you request a sign-in link, your email address is sent to Resend, the third-party service we use to deliver that one email. We store the address ourselves too, only to identify your account and whatever's tied to it — your synced list of starred teams, and, if you use the Confidence Pool, your submitted picks for each week — not to add you to the newsletter (that's a separate, explicit opt-in above). On the website, clicking the link signs you in by setting a session cookie (hd_session) scoped to hyedad.com; in the iOS app, the same one-time link hands the app a session token instead, stored in the device's Keychain. Either way you stay signed in for up to 90 days or until you sign out. Once signed in, the list of teams you've starred (and any Confidence Pool picks) is copied to our server (paired with your email) purely so a new device can pull it back down.

You can sign out at any time — from the account panel in the website's nav bar, or from the account menu on the app's History tab. You can also delete your account entirely yourself, right from that same account menu (in the app, look for "Delete Account"; on the website, email us for now) — this permanently removes your email, starred-teams list, and Confidence Pool picks from our servers, with no undo. Emailing hey@hyedad.com works too, on either platform.

Newsletter

If you sign up for the Hye Dad Sports newsletter, the email address you provide is sent directly to Buttondown, the third-party service we use to manage the mailing list and send issues. You'll get a confirmation email before you're added to the list. We don't sell or share your email with anyone outside of running the newsletter itself. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing hey@hyedad.com.

Affiliate links

Some "Shop Gear" and "Tickets" links across the network are affiliate links. Clicking one may set a cookie with the affiliate network (currently Impact, for Fanatics links) so a resulting purchase can be attributed back to Hye Dad Sports. See the Affiliate Disclosure page for details.

Local storage

Trackers use your browser's local storage (not cookies) to remember things like your starred favorite teams, saved weather locations, and the anonymous prediction ID above. This data stays on your device and isn't sent to us except as described above.
